Perseus SurveySolutions Helps Cumbria County Council Collect Valuable Feedback to Improve Public Services
London, UK – 4 June 2005 - Cumbria County Council has today confirmed that the successful implementation of Perseus' SurveySolutions® has enabled almost every department within the Council to quickly and easily conduct surveys, providing a better understanding of what is important for the half million people within the county. It has been able to use this knowledge in its plans to improve public services; enhance the economic well-being and quality of life for its citizens; improve public safety; and to protect and enhance the environment. Building on this success, the Council intends to extend SurveySolutions' use into its Consultation Management Systems.
Cumbria County Council wanted to increase the number of web surveys it was planning. However, with each survey involving a costly and time-consuming web development project, it needed an alternative solution. The Council chose to investigate web survey software as it provided an easy-to-use, scalable solution that would enable it to conduct surveys, as needed, without involving the web development department. Perseus' SurveySolutions was selected over its competitors due to its ease of use combined with its greater functionality.
Cumbria County Council's corporate research officer, Kieran Barr, explains, "The Council's most successful survey to date was getting almost four hundred 11-19 year olds to complete an on-line health survey. The tremendous response provided us with a vital insight into this audience." Kieran concludes, "The use of SurveySolutions at the Council is definitely on the rise as, with each new survey, the software gains a higher profile and more people want to use it for their own projects. Plans to start integrating SurveySolutions into our Consultation Management Systems are currently in development."
"The use of SurveySolutions in projects, like those undertaken by Cumbria County Council, enables organisations to listen, learn, react and anticipate the needs of their key stakeholders," states Peter Barnett, UK managing director of Perseus Development Corporation. "It is satisfying to know that our software is playing a role in helping the people of Cumbria, in partnership with their Council, to improve their environment."
