Perseus Development Corporation Ranked The 45th Fastest-Growing Technology Company in New England
BRAINTREE, MA (October 15, 2001) - Perseus Development Corporation has been recognized as part of the elite "New England Technology Fast 50" for 2001, a ranking of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies in the area. Rankings are based on five-year revenue growth (1996-2000). The program is presented by Deloitte & Touche and Hale and Dorr LLP, and sponsored in association with Mazonson, Nasdaq, Trinity Communications and Mass High Tech, The Journal of New England Technology.
Richard Nadler, CEO of Perseus, credits strong customer growth and the reinvestment in technology and human resources with the company's 573 percent revenue growth over the past five years. Mr. Nadler said, "We continue to generate close to 40% of our revenue from existing customers that are rolling out our software and services, validating the tangible return on investment benefits of our solutions and strong customer satisfaction."
"Despite current economic conditions, New England's technology landscape continues to grow competitively. We recognize companies like Perseus Development Corporation because they push the boundaries of developing new and better technologies and leap over higher hurdles in order to succeed," said William F. Lee, managing partner, Hale and Dorr LLP and co-chair of the New England Technology Fast 50. "Hale and Dorr salutes the innovations and accomplishments of the 2001 Fast 50 companies."
Now in its fifth year, the New England Technology Fast 50 program has honored hundreds of local fast-growing technology companies who have made a significant impact on New England's innovation economy.
Perseus' increase in revenues of 573 percent over the five-year period of 1996 to 2000 resulted in a 45th ranking overall in the Fast 50 for New England this year.
The software sector historically has made up more than 40 percent of the Fast 50 list, and the sector continues to have a strong showing in the 2001 list, with 48 percent of the Fast 50 winners in that category.
To qualify for the 2001 New England Technology Fast 50, a company must have had revenues of at least $50,000 in 1996; may be public or private; and must be headquartered in the region. To be considered for an award, the company must produce technology, manufacture a technology product, be technologically intensive, use technology in problem-solving, or devote a high percentage of effort to the research and development of technology.
