Perseus Fills in the Blank with the Survey Industry’s First Enterprise Feedback Management System
First product to meet the needs of end users and IT departments
Braintree, MA (May 25, 2004) - Perseus Development Corporation, the industry leader in Windows-based and PDA-based survey software, announced today the release of Perseus SurveySolutions Enterprise Feedback Management® (EFM), a complete web-based application that allows enterprise managers to centrally manage and control the survey practices of their organization. SurveySolutions/EFM enables enterprises to monitor and optimize relationships with customers, employees, web-site visitors, partners and members at every interaction.
Uniquely, SurveySolutions/EFM meets the needs of end users and IT departments alike. Casual users and heavy users benefit from the product's ease of power, a browser-based user interface and word processor. IT departments benefit from SurveySolutions' three tiers of openness and the ability to manage a centralized, yet distributed feedback process. Although Perseus SurveySolutions traditionally has been a Windows application, the rest of the application architecture is completely open:
- Surveys can be uploaded to any web server, enabling organizations to choose the web server that best fits their needs
- The survey processor can run on any server operating system, enabling each organization to use the server OS that best fits its needs (Perl, Java, Python, .NET)
- Survey results can be managed in Oracle, SQL, Server, Sybase, or DB2, enabling organizations to use their current corporate database standard.
"Unlike our competition, our product offers ease of power through its unique web-based word-processor interface, being easy enough for the casual survey user but powerful enough for the professional user," said Jeffrey Henning, CTO of Perseus. "From a technical standpoint, SurveySolutions/EFM is unlike our competition in that it completely integrates into an organization's existing infrastructure with full Microsoft Office compatibility and support for the organization's enterprise database, web server OS and web-application platform."
SurveySolutions/EFM systems help enterprises:
- Understand audience experiences and satisfaction levels
- Address complaints and improve retention levels
- Realize new business opportunities
According to a recent Gartner report, "Enterprises with loyal customers generate profits up to 60% higher than those of competitors" — a factor often overlooked in a thriving economy. But in challenging times, "customer analytics" quickly become a growing area of interest for organizations looking to gain competitive edge by improving the quality of their customer and brand experience (From Management Update: Customer Experience Management Is Critical, Ed Thompson, Gartner, June 18, 2003).
The key benefit of SurveySolutions/EFM is that it gives managers full control of the design, implementation, distribution, and analyses of the feedback process. Completely Web-enabled, it supports multiple workgroups and allows individuals within workgroups to share and review questionnaires and survey results. Importantly, it allows web-based reporting from a secure, centralized environment.
Surveys can also be created and deployed in multiple languages. As with all Perseus SurveySolutions products, this web-based survey system has an intuitive word-processor design environment that speeds survey creation and is fully compatible with Microsoft Office for enhanced ease of use and productivity. SurveySolutions/EFM requires no desktop software.
The recent availability of Microsoft's .Net platform has allowed Perseus to build its enterprise solution, SurveySolutions/EFM, on the Perseus .Next Architecture. .Next is a fully deployed web-based survey application that leverages Perseus' word-processing survey authoring environment and provides large organizations with the survey functionality, management, security, scalability and control required for a true workflow environment. .Next offers the following workflow functionality:
- Survey sharing — Easily share survey projects with coworkers for assistance in writing a questionnaire or analyzing the survey responses.
- Publishing approval — Administrators can set up custom rules for individuals indicating what approvals are necessary prior to publishing.
- Invitation scheduling — Administrators can categorize respondents by frequency of interviewing and can exclude respondents based on their frequency when necessary.
- Invitation workload — Administrators can restrict the number of surveys sent per minute, per our and per day, to manage server load.
".Next has been engineered to deliver powerful research tools to non-technical people in marketing, research, training, sales, HR and other organizations," said Jeffrey Henning, Chief Operating Officer of Perseus Development Corp. "Survey presentation, branding, standard and advanced survey logic, validation and all other survey development features can be implemented without programming."
SurveySolutions/EFM will be available June 1, 2004. Review copies of SurveySolutions/EFM are available to members of the press by contacting Martha Popoloski, Public Relations, at email@example.com or telephone: 781-837-1555.
