More than Half of Perseus’ Government Clients Use SurveySolutions to Assess the Effectiveness of Training and Conferences

BRAINTREE, MA (June 24, 2002) - The most common application of Perseus SurveySolutions software, mentioned by 57% of its government users, was for assessing the effectiveness of training and conferences. Recognizing the importance of this feedback and the profound benefits of conducting surveys via the web, many government and military personnel are adopting Perseus' web survey software products for cost-effective data collection approach.

Specifically, SurveySolutions is used by government personnel in training processes and conferences for:

  1. Completing class and conference registration forms prior to an event
  2. For pre-testing students at the start of training
  3. For immediate post-testing to determine what was learned from training
  4. For soliciting feedback from students and conference attendees to improve sessions
  5. For follow-up with students and attendees six months to a year later to measure knowledge retention and use of the training materials

Additionally, many government agencies use SurveySolutions to measure the satisfaction of the constituencies that they serve. This includes internal and external customers and employees. One agency needed to conduct a range of surveys from various types of customers. The agency provides services such as motor pool, contracting, purchasing, leasing, property management, mail services, architectural and engineering services, facilities management, etc. and needed a simple, cost-effective solution for assessing feedback from such a diverse customer population. Using SurveySolutions, the agency was able to gather feedback from the various customers by inviting them to complete an online survey. The responses were collected automatically, analyzed and then instantly charted in graphic format for presentation purposes.

Human resource surveys have been used to ask employees how they feel about specific initiatives and reforms, the effectiveness of employee-diversity initiatives, and overall benefit concerns. The software has also been used for exit interviews to obtain feedback from departing employees.
