Perseus Releases MobileSurvey
New Palm OS and PocketPC survey-collection software available for field-force automation
Braintree, MA (December 4, 2003) - Perseus Development Corporation announced today the release of Perseus MobileSurvey, a new survey-collection application to facilitate field-force automation.
Perseus MobileSurvey is a brand new PDA-based survey collection application, available immediately for Pocket PC and Palm OS powered devices. MobileSurvey provides the power of Perseus SurveySolutions web surveys on a handheld device, supporting all SurveySolutions question types and validations, as well as advanced branching, piped answers and display of conditional choices.
Survey authors can now deploy the exact same questionnaire as both a web survey and as a PDA survey. SurveySolutions with MobileSurvey enables survey administrators to now monitor research results in real time, with responses being collected from web and handheld interviews simultaneously. Handheld survey results can be sent via HTTP to the Perseus Survey Processor running on a web server. The Survey Processor can store results directly to an SQL database, to a TSV file, or send the results by e-mail for collection by the Perseus SurveySolutions desktop. Results can be sent over TCP/IP to a web server using the following technologies:
- Via ActiveSync pass-through Internet connection (Pocket PC only)
- Modem card
- Wireless network card
- Wireless cell service with Internet connection.
To work around the small screen size of PDAs, MobileSurvey offers glossary support and an image library, enabling data collectors to view definitions and images associated with each question on separate screens.
"We're dedicated to meeting all the electronic survey needs of our customers, including handheld survey collection," said Jeffrey Henning, Chief Marketing Officer of Perseus Development Corp. "In our test phase, MobileSurvey has been used by 400 data collectors a week to streamline the process of gathering research from the field. It offers the speed of electronic collection in the convenient form factor of a handheld device, while offering the power of an online survey."
Perseus SurveySolutions 6 Standard Edition retails for $495 and the Professional Edition retails for $995. Enterprise Editions are available at Workgroup, Department and Corporate levels.
