Elementary School Students Use SurveySolutions to Enhance Web Site
Georgia Elementary School Becomes First Participant in Perseus' Educational Give Away
BRAINTREE, MA (September 22, 1999) - Students at Brumby Elementary School will be using Perseus SurveySolutions for the Web to gather information from students across the country. They are the first participants in Perseus' new educational give away program which will provide up to 100,000 free copies of SurveySolutions to students and teachers grade K through 12. The leader in the growing Web and E-mail survey software market, SurveySolutions for the Web has been used to complete over three million Web and E-mail based surveys since it first shipped in January, 1998.
Brumby Elementary's target class, a program for students with an advanced understanding of the Internet, has created a web site for the school and will be using SurveySolutions for the Web to design and incorporate a survey into the site. The survey will ask students at other schools about their scholastic experiences and environments, providing young people with a glimpse of how their peers live and learn.
"The Internet is changing everything," said Patrick Hlavaty, Brumby Elementary's computer lab manager. "One of the challenges this presents is getting kids to think critically about its uses and content. This survey is a good way of doing that, and will enable our students to see what they have in common with other kids their age."
Perseus SurveySolutions for the Web is the only survey system in which the user creates and modifies questionnaires in a word-processing environment without any scripting, programming, or dialogue sequences to master. Users can create professional surveys, post them to the Web or distribute them via E-mail, automatically collect responses, analyze the results, and instantly produce effective presentations all from their desktop computer.
There are a wide range of educational applications for SurveySolutions for the Web. Principals and administrators can use it to measure teacher and parent satisfaction, teachers can use it to get feedback from students and parents, and the PTA and other organizations can use it for support planning.
In order to participate in Perseus' education give away program a teacher or school administrator need only submit a request on school letterhead to Perseus Development Corp., 222 Forbes Road, Suite. 208, Braintree, MA 02184.
